Residential Services

Make your home more comfortable and energy-efficient with these energy and cost savings methods.

1

Solar Consultation

  • Installing solar panels will lower your electric bills, reduce your carbon footprint, and show the neighborhood that you’re doing your part.
  • No upfront capital investment required. Through a “solar lease,” you can get the benefits of solar energy and start saving on your utility bills immediately.
  • Purchasing your very own solar array will result in a drastic reduction in your utility bills, with the added benefits of receiving tax credits and grants. Once the solar array pays off your initial investment, it starts to pay YOU for the rest of its lifetime.
  • Ask us how coupling your home solar system with a backup battery storage system can amplify your savings while protecting you and your family from power outages and increases in electric prices.

Contact ELM to sign up for a free, no-obligation home solar assessment. You will be presented with a comprehensive report on how you can lower your bills and take advantage of federal and state incentives and grants.

Home Energy Solutions (HES) Survey

The first step in making your home more comfortable and energy efficient.

  • We will connect you with one of our pre-vetted vendors who provide best-in-class services through the CT HES Program for homes.
  • The survey will unlock deeper energy incentives in your home for thermostats, solar energy, windows, appliances, or insulation.
  • For only $75, a vendor that is both certified and subsidized by our utility will come to your home and provide you with upwards of $1,200 worth of energy services including: implementing LED light bulbs; air sealing your attic, basement and windows; installing aerators on sinks, and low-flow shower heads.

Nest Smart Home

A smart home is a safer and more energy efficient home.

  • Nest Learning Thermostat – This thermostat learns your schedule and the temperature you like. With savings of 10-12% on heating and upwards of 15% on cooling, this powerful device can pay for itself quickly! If your schedule changes and you’re away unexpectedly, log-in through the smart phone app and make the adjustments you need.
  • Nest Protect – The loud, annoying (and dumb) smoke alarm is a thing of the past. This smoke alarm monitors for both smoke and carbon monoxide and will tell you what is wrong. It contains best-in-class sensors, can test itself, and will last 10 years. Even better, it can be silenced and checked from your phone.
  • Nest Cam – The Nest Cam might not save you energy, but it is a great addition to your smart home to make you feel more comfortable and secure whether you’re in your home or at work. With indoor, outdoor, and facial recognition options available, this is by far one of the best, most capable home cameras on the market.
